Schedule
- Monday through Thursday, including holidays
- Hours: 5:00 am until 3:00 pm (start and end times may vary based on production needs)

- Starting pay: $17.00 per hour

Requirements
- At least 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (extended to 18 months for layoffs or child/elder care)
- Previous work history does not apply to full-time students for the last 36 months
- Rehire criteria: minimum 180-day waiting period and no more than 3 prior employments at Cobb/Tyson Foods
- Must reside in the United States
- Previous agricultural or production experience preferred
- Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with avian species
- Must sign and abide by Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines
Responsibilities
- Assist with the selection of up to 2,500 pedigree birds daily by identifying gender, catching, scanning wing band numbers, and auditing market birds for wing bands (35%)
- Assist with properly identifying the coop birds are assigned to (30%)
- Maintain clean foot pans in assigned boot room, sanitize selection breakroom and equipment, observe farm structures/equipment, and recommend maintenance/repairs (15%)
- Assist with setting up for selection: load empty coops, place catch frames, hang lights, set up scales/scanners, make coop labels, place coops in pens, run cords, and dispose of dead birds (10%)
- Other duties may include: moving birds between houses, washing/disinfecting vehicles, and euthanizing weak/ill birds per company policy (10%)
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare
- Shower and change clothing/footwear (provided by the company) before entering the facility
- No jewelry except medical ID; body piercings must be covered by clothing
Physical Demands
- Must use safe lifting techniques
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (with assistance) and occasionally up to 300 lbs (e.g., stacks of bird coops)
- Stand for the majority of the shift on multiple surfaces (concrete, shavings)
- Walk, sit, use hands, reach, balance, climb ladders, stoop/bend up to 1,000 times per day
- Talk, hear, and drive within the farm complex
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: safety goggles, glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, company-issued footwear, ear plugs, and NIOSH-approved N95 respirators as needed
- Chemicals used: disinfectants (Synergize, Virocid, Lysol, Bleach), hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes
- Must follow all safety policies (Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, PPE) and mitigate safety risks
