About the role
Assembly of component parts used in assembly of boats such as ballast tanks, fuel tanks, heaters, stereo and electrical components.
Responsibilities
- Apply high energy, self-motivation, and initiative to learn and be trained on various types of equipment and processes.
- Use safely and effectively high-speed pneumatic and battery powered power tools (drills, drivers etc.), hand tools etc.
- Read drawings and specifications.
- Complete required documentation of finished parts for production purposes.
- Perform daily job duties in a varied and dynamic workload tracked via daily schedules and assignments requiring responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
- Perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced, noisy environment while wearing all required PPE (including eye, hearing, etc.).
- Practice good housekeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior woodworking, construction, and/or mechanic experience preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to work at lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent traveling up and down stairs, sitting, squatting and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time, including working overhead.
- Frequent walking and being on your feet for a majority of the work day.
- Physical exertion is required.
Work Environment
- Typical 10 hour work days, frequent overtime required.
- PPE required: Safety Glasses; cut resistant gloves required when using razor knife.
