Coater Mechanic

Starting pay: $35.53/hour plus $1.00 night-shift differential and overtime.

Schedule

6 PM – 6 AM on the 223 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Adjust and/or repair all equipment in the department
• Inspect products for defects and record results on required forms
• Inform supervisor if any defects are found
• Perform all required quality checks and document them as required
• Reject material that does not meet specifications and provide samples as required
• Lubricate all equipment in the department as required
• Set up and perform changeovers following the published schedule
• Occasional forklift operation
• Observe all rules of safety

Requirements

• Proven background in manufacturing or similar production environment
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings
• Ability to use measuring hand tools to set up and maintain all can line machinery and associated equipment
• Critical and logical thinking ability
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Able to work at heights including use of steps and ladders
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Journeyman Mechanic plus 2+ years as an Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment
• Lift truck driver’s certification (preferred)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for extended periods, while running machinery up to 12 hours
• Adequate upper body strength to repeatedly pull or push hand tools in order to make, repair, or adjust parts and/or machines
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to be in constant motion about 50-70% of shifts
