About the role

The Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach position is open for the Winter 2026/2027 season at Modesto City Schools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program that aligns with school goals and objectives.
• Coach players to improve their skills and foster a positive team environment.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding student athletes.
• Work closely with other coaches, administrators, and support staff to enhance athletic programs.

Requirements

• Valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Proven success as a high school basketball coach.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years coaching experience at the high school level.

Skills

• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Effective time management and leadership skills.
