Part-Time Faculty Pool – Head Women's Flag Football (Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 semesters)

About the role

Under the general supervision of a Dean and the work direction of the Athletic Director, the Head Coach provides comprehensive instruction and leadership to student-athletes, leads the recruitment of student-athletes, manages team scheduling, programming, and public relations, and may provide work direction to Assistant Coaches. This assignment will collaborate with the Athletic Director to develop the new Women’s Flag Football program at Moorpark College.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, mentoring, and coaching in skills, techniques, and competitive strategies; evaluate individual and team performance and refine strategies throughout the season.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the sports program in alignment with department, college, and District goals.
• Plan and schedule competitions, tournaments, and events in collaboration with coaches, adhering to academic schedules, District policy, and California Community College Commission on Athletics (CCCAA)/Western State Conference regulations; distribute schedules and report statistics.
• Establish and maintain safety standards; demonstrate injury-prevention techniques, provide immediate assistance to injured student-athletes, and document injuries as required.
• Foster a positive atmosphere for student-athletes; support academic progress, retention, and matriculation through mentoring and referrals to support services.
• Lead the recruiting process in compliance with CCCAA regulations; maintain contact with prospective student-athletes and provide referrals to academic and student services.
• Develop and manage the team budget; recommend and oversee purchases of equipment, supplies, and uniforms; assist in maintaining inventory records.
• Ensure program compliance with CCCAA regulations; establish procedures to monitor compliance and report violations to the Athletic Director or Dean.
• Promote interest and attendance at athletic events; assist in fundraising efforts for the program.
• Provide work direction to Assistant Coaches and perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience OR the equivalent OR possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• For candidates with a master’s degree, professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
• First Aid and CPR Certificates issued by a recognized training program must be obtained within the first three months of employment.
• Valid California Driver License.

Equivalency: Candidates without a bachelor’s or associate degree may qualify through a combination of college coursework and professional experience. For Coaching, one season of coaching experience is considered equivalent to one year of professional experience. Candidates seeking equivalency must submit a Supplemental Questionnaire for Equivalency.
