About the role
California State University, Monterey Bay is seeking part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the Department.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in accordance with departmental and university curriculum requirements.
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions that promote student learning and critical thinking.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback through various assessment methods.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student grades and attendance.
- Participate in department meetings and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
Requirements
- A master's degree in a related field, or equivalent, in accordance with University guidelines.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to CSUMB's Vision.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in a related field, or equivalent, in accordance with University guidelines.
- Preferred qualifications include a terminal degree and evidence of effective teaching with a variety of methodologies.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Pay
Starting salary for a full-time appointment ranges from $6,288 to $7,658 per month.
