Coaching Aide

Position Summary

About the role

This is a temporary or on-call position. Assists in the planning, instruction (coaching), promotion and administration of a sport, game, or athletic program; assists with conditioning of players, skill development, and play techniques.

Responsibilities

• Attends intercollegiate policy debate tournaments as a coach for the MSU Debate Team.
• Completes research assignments under the direction of the MSU Debate Head Coach and Assistant Coach(es).
• Produces original research on the required topic, presents it to the MSU Debate Team, and practices the content with students.
• Judges rounds at tournaments to fulfill the MSU Debate Team's judging requirement.
• Assists students in areas of research expertise.

Requirements

• Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and one to three years of related work experience, including competing in elimination rounds of college policy debate tournaments, coaching competitive policy debate, working at high school policy debate camps, or conducting in-depth debate research and use of database software.

Benefits

• Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call.
• On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
