About the role

The Springstead High School is seeking a Coach - Track & Field Boys Head Coach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive track and field program that aligns with the school’s mission and vision.
• Train and mentor student athletes, providing guidance and support to enhance their athletic performance and personal development.
• Manage team logistics including scheduling practices, competitions, and travel arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding athletics.
• Collaborate with other coaches, administrators, and staff to promote a positive school culture and community involvement.

Requirements

• A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• A Florida Educator's Certificate in any subject (non-competitive cheerleading coaches are exempt).
• First aid training concepts, injury prevention, CPR.
• A willingness to devote time before and after school hours.

Qualifications

• Mastery of track and field coaching techniques and strategies.
• Experience working with high school-aged students.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Pay

Paid in accordance with the Differentiated Pay for Additional Duty/Supplemental Salary Schedule in the Hernando County Teachers' Association (HCTA) Contract.
