Ministry Overview

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is a non-profit ministry dedicated to “Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ.” We are a middle and senior high school committed to high academic standards. Our biblically-integrated, college-preparatory curriculum is delivered by a dedicated staff of Christian professionals. We are committed to teaching from a biblical worldview and philosophy. We provide students with experiences that foster a servant’s heart, including extracurricular activities, interscholastic athletics, music, theater, short-term mission trips, and numerous service opportunities. CVCA aims to create a Christian school community characterized by transforming relationships that produce a lived-out faith in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.

Ministry Requirements

  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Faithfully upholds CVCA in prayer
  • Demonstrates behavior aligned with CVCA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Core Values, policies, and expectations
  • Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence

About the Role

This position supports CVCA’s athletic programs in accordance with OHSAA and our athletic mission to Build Christ-like Character as Ambassadors for Christ through Competitive Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Train, disciple, and encourage student-athletes to perform athletically to the maximum of their potential to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Communicate the mission of the program
  • Integrate the program into the school community
  • Supervise practice and manage games
  • Support student-athlete success in all areas of the student experience
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous experience coaching or playing

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Physical activity as needed, including running, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Evening and weekend work may be required
  • Local travel for games
