Coach - Head HS Girls Basketball (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

About the role

Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses and at all times during the season.
• Exercise patience, tolerance and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials and spectators.
• Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior and interactions with our student athletes should be reflective of this.

Requirements

• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate OR Valid Arizona Substitute Certificate OR Valid Arizona Coaching Certificate (Sport Specific) AND NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate (at employee's expense)
• Coach Level 1 (If using to qualify for varsity head coach position in lieu of teaching/coaching certificate)
• Minimum Requirements: NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course OR Coach Level 1 (If using to qualify for varsity head coach position in lieu of teaching/coaching certificate)

Qualifications

• Current certifications: NFHS Concussion certificate, NFHS Concussion in Sports Course, ATC Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate, Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training, NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention certificate, Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Course, Current CPR w/AED, Current First Aid, Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Bloodborne pathogen training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization

Benefits
