About the role
Under the direction of the school principal and the Athletic Director, the Coach supports the School and the Diocese of St. Augustine in their mission to evangelize, catechize, and educate youth in a Catholic School environment. The Coach instructs and works with athletes to prepare them for competition, teaching rules, strategies, and techniques while fostering an environment where the team can use its skills and abilities to their maximum potential.
Responsibilities
- Establish a consistent disciplinary approach that promotes self-direction and positive self-image.
- Set high standards for student behavior and manage inappropriate behavior effectively.
- Demonstrate professional responsibility in enforcing School policies and regulations at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of information and display sound judgment in dress and general behavior, adhering to dress code standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior coaching experience preferred.
- Must complete a background check and Protecting God’s Children (PGC) class (Background Screening Clearinghouse).
- Clear an E-Verify check to substantiate work authorization in the United States (E-Verify).
- Reliable transportation and availability for evening and weekend work as necessary.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, public speaking, and presentation abilities.
- Strong human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter, well-organized, and a team player.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual capabilities, and the ability to lift as required.

- Walking, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, carrying, and keyboarding.
