SUMMARY

Aid the Head Coach of a middle school athletic team and contribute to the growth of the athletic program by teaching foundational and advanced skills of the sport while adhering to Poudre School District guidelines.

JOB TASKS

• Assist the head coach with practice sessions to enhance sport skills and sportsmanship among student athletes.
• Supervise student athletes before, during, and after all school-sanctioned events; ensure their safety at all times and provide necessary safety equipment.
• Attend and monitor practices and games; communicate to athletes and parents about practice schedules, games, academic performance, and expectations.
• Ensure proper communication of discipline procedures, safety concerns, and all student injuries requiring emergency medical services to the school Head Coach and Athletic Director.
• Demonstrate fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgments related to the sport participants.
• Adhere to district guidelines for building use and field access, including following procedures for reservations, access, and care of district facilities.
• Attend work and arrive in a timely manner; assist with inventory and security of equipment and supplies.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, locker-room supervision, and extra practices.
• Communicate discipline procedures and problems, safety concerns, and all student injuries requiring emergency medical services to the school Head Coach and Athletic Director.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous coaching experience in the sport is strongly preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required before coaching assignment begins.
• Complete required trainings upon hire: Concussion, Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Abuse and Reporting, and Sexual Harassment.
