Coach - Assistant HS Boys Basketball (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

Minimum Requirements

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate (at employee's expense)
• Concussion in Sports Course
• Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate
• Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training or NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention certificate
• CPR with AED (EMT license supersedes this requirement)
• First Aid (EMT license supersedes this requirement)
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Bloodborne pathogen training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department
• MMR immunization or proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles)

Requirements

Requires prior approval from TUSD Risk Management Department for bloodborne pathogen training.

Benefits

Season dates: Fall - August into November, Winter - November into February, Spring - February into May.

Pay

Stipend to be prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations. Position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.

Schedule

Temporary position with stipend prorated for missed days.

Qualifications

Must have completed the required certificates and trainings as listed above.

Skills

Patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators.
