Coach - Assistant HS Boys Basketball (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

About the role

Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Located at Santa Rita High School - Pantano & Escalante Area. Effective: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season.
• Exercise patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators.
• Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior, and interactions with our student-athletes should be reflective of this.

Requirements

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate (at employee's expense)
• Fundamentals of Coaching Course
• NFHS Concussion certificate
• Concussion in Sports Course
• ATC Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate (must review PowerPoint and sign a document affirming PowerPoint has been reviewed)
• Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training OR NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention certificate
• Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Course
• Current CPR w/AED (On-line classes are not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
• Current First Aid (On-line classes are not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Bloodborne pathogen training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department*
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Benefits

This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.

Pay

• STIPEND to be prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations.
• 2 positions available (1/2 Stipend each).
