Coach-Assistant Girls High School Volleyball-Timnath Middle/High School

SUMMARY

Aid the Head Coach in developing the athletic program by teaching fundamentals and advanced skills of the sport while adhering to CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines.

JOB TASKS

• Assist with practice sessions to develop sport skills and sportsmanship.
• Supervise student athletes before, during, and after all school-sanctioned events; ensure their safety.
• Communicate with athletes and parents about practice schedules, games, academic performance, and expectations.
• Follow CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines.
• Assist with inventory and security of equipment and supplies.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, locker-room supervision, and extra practices.
• Communicate discipline procedures, safety concerns, and all student injuries requiring emergency medical services to the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
• Demonstrate fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgments related to sport participants.
• Adhere to district guidelines for building use and field access, including following procedures for reservations, access, and care of district facilities.
• Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & LICENSES REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous coaching experience in the sport strongly preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Valid Teaching License or Special Services License issued by Colorado Department of Education OR valid CHSSA Coach Certification.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required before coaching assignment begins.
• Complete required trainings upon hire: Concussion, Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Abuse and Reporting, and Sexual Harassment.

RATE OF PAY

The pay for this position is determined by the Athletic Coaching Stipend Schedule based on paid years of experience up to 5 years. Salary stipend ranges are as follows:

• External coaches: $290 - $7,032 per season.
• Internal coaches: $290 - $8,143 per season. (Internal coach is defined as any employee with a schedule contract percentage or hourly assignment for the current school year. Internal assignments do not include substitute, seasonal, and varied hours assignments.)
