Coach-Assistant Girls High School Soccer-Wellington Middle/High School

SUMMARY

Aid the Head Coach of a high school athletic team and contribute to the growth of the athletic program by teaching foundational and advanced skills of the sport while adhering to CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines.

JOB TASKS

• Assist the head coach with practice sessions to enhance sport skills and sportsmanship among student athletes.
• Supervise student athletes before, during, and after all school-sanctioned events; ensure their safety at all times and provide necessary safety equipment.
• Attend and monitor practices and games; communicate with athletes and parents about schedules, academic performance, and expectations.
• Follow CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines; assist with inventory and security of equipment and supplies; assist with equipment maintenance, locker-room supervision, and extra practices.
• Communicate discipline procedures, safety concerns, and any student injuries requiring emergency medical services to the school Head Coach and Athletic Director.
• Demonstrate fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgments related to the sport participants; adhere to district guidelines for building use and field access.
• Attend work and arrive in a timely manner; perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous coaching experience in the sport is strongly preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Valid Teaching License or Special Services License issued by Colorado Department of Education OR valid CHSSA Coach Certification.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required before coaching assignment begins.
• Complete required trainings upon hire: Concussion, Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Abuse and Reporting, and Sexual Harassment.

RATE OF PAY

The pay for this position is determined by the Athletic Coaching Stipend Schedule based on paid years of experience up to 5 years. Salary stipend ranges for external coaches are between $290-$7,032 per season, and for internal coaches are between $290-$8,143 per season. (Internal coach is defined as any employee with a schedule contract percentage or hourly assignment for the current school year. Internal assignments do not include substitute, seasonal, and varied hours assignments.)
