SUMMARY

Aid the Head Coach in developing athletic skills and sportsmanship among student athletes in the sport. Supervise practices and games, communicate expectations, and adhere to CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines.

Job Tasks

  • Assist with practice sessions and game preparation
  • Supervise student athletes before, during, and after events
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, and ensure locker-room safety
  • Communicate with athletes and parents about schedules and expectations
  • Monitor and report on student safety and injuries
  • Enforce fair and consistent disciplinary measures
  • Follow district guidelines for facility use and maintenance

Education, Experience, and Licenses Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous coaching experience in the sport preferred
  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Valid Teaching License or Special Services License from Colorado Department of Education, or valid CHSSA Coach Certification
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required before coaching assignment begins
  • Complete required trainings upon hire: Concussion, Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Abuse and Reporting, and Sexual Harassment

Pay

The rate of pay is determined by the Athletic Coaching Stipend Schedule based on paid years of experience up to 5 years. Salary stipend ranges are between $290-$7,032 per season for external coaches and $290-$8,143 per season for internal coaches (defined as employees with a schedule contract percentage or hourly assignment for the current school year).
