Co-op - Synthetic Biology (mRNA Therapeutics)

Role and Responsibilities

• Support the design, production, and in vitro testing of mRNA therapeutics as part of the Synthetic Biology team.
• Perform hands-on laboratory tasks, including maintaining mammalian cell lines, transfecting mRNAs, and analyzing expression via flow cytometry.
• Assist in DNA template design, PCR, cloning, and mRNA quality assessment.
• Document experiments and present findings, working independently to generate decision‑making data.

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Biological Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
• Hands‑on experience with mammalian cell culture, sterile techniques, transfection, and viability assays required.
• Preferred experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and flow cytometry.
• Reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to work full‑time onsite in Boston’s Seaport.
