This is a hands-on, laboratory position at a small and rapidly growing biotech start-up for a creative and resourceful student with a strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry to work with the scientists on our protein sciences team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain mammalian cell culture lines
- Perform transient transfections and affinity-based protein purifications
- Execute assays such as BLI (quantitation, binding kinetic, epitope binning), SPR and other characterization methods like SDS-PAGE and analytical HPLC (SEC, HIC)
- Conduct molecular biology tasks such as PCR, plasmid purification, and sequence analysis
- Execute antibody conjugation experiments to support in vitro and in vivo studies
- Support antibody discovery and bi-specific antibody engineering efforts
- Communicate results & maintain accurate records using an electronic lab notebook (ELN)
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field at Northeastern University
Qualifications
- Biology/biochemistry lab experience in academic or industry settings is a plus
- Experience with protein expression and purification is a plus
- Experience with antibody conjugation is a plus
- Experience with protein characterization with HPLC is a plus
Pay
The salary range for this role is $25.00 - $40.00 hourly. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
