About the role
Bendix is seeking a Co-op, Mechanical Engineering position at their Product R&D Centers of Excellence. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, preferably with a dual major or minor in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Advanced product concept R&D
- Test fixture design and fabrication - hardware and software
- Product validation and troubleshooting in laboratory and vehicle environments
- Oversee inventory, assembly, and coordination of testing with technicians
- Product phase reviews, product DFMEAs, and project management
- Troubleshooting, debug, root cause analysis, resolve equipment reliability issues
- Special systems and modules design
- Materials analysis and testing
- CAD/CAE analysis and PLM systems
- Product application development, road test, and customer demos
- Customer and supplier new product development and current support
- Aid in translating customer requirements into new products
Requirements
- Currently attending an accredited college or university
- 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
- Design Tools - Pro-Engineer, IDEAS/NX Solid Modeling, TeamCenter PLM
- Fluency in English & Spanish is a plus
- Methods – FMEA, Six Sigma, 5S, Instrumentation
- Computer Operating Systems - Linux, Macintosh, Windows
- Analysis Tools – MATLAB, Minitab, Dasylab, AMESim
- Hands-on skills with mechanical tools, shop equipment, and trucks
- Computer Language – HTML, Visual Basic
- Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic and simple electronic systems
- Proficient in Microsoft® Office Tools - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
General Information
- Hours and Location: 40-hour work week on-site in Avon, Ohio (20 miles west of Cleveland)
- Pay Rate: $19 - $26/hour (contingent upon credit hours)
