About The Role
We're looking for a driven and mission-aligned Co-Founder to help build this organization from the ground up. This isn't a typical volunteer role — you'll be a core decision-maker shaping our strategy, culture, and direction from day one, alongside the founding team. If you're excited about building something meaningful and want real ownership and equity in the mission (not just a task list), this is for you. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain founding/leadership experience, build something they deeply believe in, and grow with the organization as it scales.
Responsibilities
- Help define and refine the organization's mission, vision, and strategy
- Make key decisions on programs, operations, funding, and growth
- Represent the organization to partners, donors, and the public
- Recruit, lead, and support the early team and volunteers
- Contribute directly in your area of expertise (e.g., tech, operations, fundraising, partnerships)
- Help set up foundational systems governance, processes, and culture
- Pursue funding opportunities (grants, donations, partnerships) as needed
- Stay accountable to the mission and to fellow co-founders/leadership
Who You Are
- Deeply passionate about [cause area] and committed for the long haul
- Entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to build from scratch
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Brings a complementary skill set (e.g., strategy, tech, fundraising, operations, community-building)
- Able to commit meaningful time consistently, especially in the early stages
- Comfortable with the ups and downs of early-stage organization building
- Prior startup, nonprofit founding, or leadership experience is a plus, but not required—mission alignment and drive matter most
