Co-Adjutant Researcher - York Lab

Overview

Applicant is expected to develop web, front-end and database infrastructure for research projects. Duties will involve software development, testing and documentation, and active engagement in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop web pages and front-ends to showcase new drug discovery tools and databases used to train innovative machine learning models.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including biologists, chemists, and data scientists to understand requirements and integrate new features into existing systems.
• Collaborate with Nvidia and Tandem AI to leverage their expertise in AI computing and advanced drug discovery technologies.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of software infrastructure for drug discovery projects.
• Document code and processes to ensure maintainability and scalability of the developed systems.
• Participate in regular code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development process.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development, preferably in scientific computing or bioinformatics.
• Experience with web development frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Strong understanding of database management systems and proficiency in SQL.
• Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques, particularly in the context of drug discovery.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and contribute to the overall success of the project.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, Java, or C++.
• Understanding of cloud-based services and platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and familiarity with JSON.
