About the role
This position involves providing excellent customer service, handling sales counter functions, and assisting with inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Sell products and provide product knowledge and technical assistance
- Order entry, special orders, and price lookup
- Stock shelves and merchandise products
- Process sales orders and write special orders
- Perform cycle counting of inventory
- Assist customers with loading purchases
- Submit issues related to pricing, scanning, or product descriptions to the Resource Center
- Participate in store safety meetings and follow safety guidelines
Requirements
- Previous retail or customer service experience
- Strong math, reading, writing, and speaking skills
- Problem-solving ability and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of lumber, building materials, or general hardware merchandise
- Able to lift and load merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hourly position (non-exempt from overtime)
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to handle phone inquiries
- Knowledge of retail merchandise
- Ability to lift and load heavy merchandise
