Talent Responsibilities
- Run production on Star models including: SW-12R, SR-20J, SR-32J, Type B
- Load bar stock and monitor bar feeders
- Perform basic machine checks during production
- Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, comparators, and drop gages
- Made basic offset adjustments under supervision or as trained
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues such as tool wear, chatter, burrs, and dimensional issues
- Communicate any machine issues, quality problems, or material concerns to the supervisor
- Work safely and keep machines, tooling, and work areas organized
Talent Profile
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Technical degree, vocational certification, or trade school training in CNC machining or a related field preferred
- Experience: 2+ years of experience with Star CNC Swiss lathes; Experience using precision inspection tools; Experience with Star machines such as SW-12, SR-20, SR-32, or similar Swiss-type lathes; Understanding of G-code and M-code
- Skills/Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions and specifications; Machining stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass, or similar materials; Knowledge of CNC Swiss tooling, guide bushings, collets, and bar feeders
- Physical/Mental Abilities: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, tooling, fixtures, and equipment weighing up to 50lbs; Stand and walk for extended periods during an 8 hour or longer shift; Regularly bend, reach, kneel, crouch and move around CNC machines and production equipment; Safely load and unload bar stock, raw materials, finished components, tooling, and machine accessories; Maintain concentration and attention to detail while setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC equipment; Communicate with supervisors, machinists, engineers, quality personnel, and other departments
