  • Select tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining strategies for a variety of materials including aluminum, steel, titanium, and composites.
  • Perform first-article inspections and verify finished parts using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to improve part quality, cycle times, and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve part manufacturability, tooling, and machining processes.
  • Assist in the design and fabrication of fixtures, jigs, prototype tooling, and composite molds.
  • Maintain machine tools, organize tooling, and ensure a clean, safe, and efficient machine shop.
  • Support prototype development and engineering projects requiring custom one-off or low-volume machined components.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a prototype, job shop, or production environment.
  • Experience programming CNC machines using CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, machine setup, tooling, workholding, and machine operation.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Experience editing or troubleshooting CNC programs and G-code.
  • Strong understanding of machining strategies, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
  • Experience inspecting precision machined components using common metrology equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and technicians.
  • U.S. person status required (citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) to comply with ITAR export regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, or similar software.
  • Experience with HAAS CNC machines.
  • Experience machining prototype or low-volume aerospace components.
  • Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis machining.
  • Familiarity with fixture design and workholding solutions.
  • Experience machining composite tooling or trim fixtures.
  • Background in aerospace, motorsports, defense, or other high-performance manufacturing environments.
