CNC Programmer
We are partnering with a family-owned manufacturing company in Madison, WI to find a CNC Programmer. Our client is known for their strong culture, long-tenured workforce, and nearly 50 years of service.
About the role
The CNC Programmer interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to create accurate CNC programs that support high-quality manufacturing operations. This role collaborates with machinists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to develop, test, and optimize machining processes while ensuring efficiency, precision, and quality standards.
- Develop and optimize G-code programs for multi-axis machining centers
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures
- Perform first-piece quality inspections
- Troubleshoot machining issues
- Improve manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times, and lower scrap rates
- Maintain program documentation
- Support new product introductions and prototype development

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate's degree in CNC Programming, a computer-related field, or a mechanical field (preferred)
- Experience with CNC programming and knowledge of machine tools and electronics
- Ability to create and optimize CNC programs and G-code
- Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with ERP systems (a plus)
- Ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams
