CNC Programmer

Universal Presentation Concepts (UPC) has been designing and manufacturing retail store fixtures and point-of-purchase displays in Madison, Wisconsin, for almost 50 years. About the role

• Interpret drawings and CAD/CAM files to create precise CNC programs
• Develop, test, and optimize G-code for multi-axis machining centers
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to maximize efficiency and part quality
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and refine manufacturing processes
• Perform first-quality inspections and adjust programs to meet tight tolerances and quality standards
• Maintain and update CNC program libraries, ensuring version control and documentation accuracy
• Implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, scrap rates, and tooling costs
• Train and mentor operators on program execution, setup procedures, and best practices
• Work with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and prototype development
• Must be able to set up and operate all equipment in the CNC facility

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in CNC programming, a computer-related field, or a mechanical field
• Experience with programming and knowledge of electronics and machine tools
• Ability to use CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
• Must be able to read and interpret work orders and blueprints
• Experience with ERP systems a plus
