Universal Presentation Concepts (UPC) has been designing and manufacturing retail store fixtures and point-of-purchase displays in Madison, Wisconsin, for almost 50 years. Founded in 1978 as a family business, we have grown into a globally established company with a strong employee-centric culture.
About the role
- Interpret drawings and CAD/CAM files to create precise CNC programs
- Develop, test, and optimize G-code for multi-axis machining centers
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to maximize efficiency and part quality
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and refine manufacturing processes
- Perform first-quality inspections and adjust programs to meet tight tolerances and quality standards
- Maintain and update CNC program libraries, ensuring version control and documentation accuracy
- Implement process improvements to reduce cycle times, scrap rates, and tooling costs
- Train and mentor operators on program execution, setup procedures, and best practices
- Work with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and prototype development
- Must be able to set up and operate all equipment in the CNC facility
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree in CNC programming, a computer-related field, or a mechanical field
- Experience with programming and knowledge of electronics and machine tools
- Ability to use CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Must be able to read and interpret work orders and blueprints
- Experience with ERP systems a plus
