Responsibilities
- Develop CNC machining processes for new and existing components using up to 5-axis milling, Swiss, and mill-turn equipment.
- Establish quoting, workholding, tooling selection, secondary operations, and production methods.
- Create, implement, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam, PartMaker, or comparable programming software.
- Analyze product and equipment specifications to determine the most effective manufacturing method.
- Evaluate and improve existing production processes in partnership with machinists and manufacturing personnel.
- Support new product development and mechanical or electromechanical assembly projects as required.
- Evaluate tooling and equipment concepts based on technical feasibility, cost, and production timelines.
- Communicate manufacturing techniques, material properties, process capabilities, and production limitations to internal teams.
- Support inspection personnel in achieving dimensional and quality requirements.
- Provide technical expertise to the Sales Team during quoting, new-business development, and service implementation.
- Manage, support, and provide technical direction to engineering personnel.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline will be preferred.
- An associate degree in Manufacturing Technology combined with at least five years of machine-shop process engineering experience will be considered.
- Candidates without a qualifying degree will be considered when at least 10 years of machine-shop process engineering or CNC programming experience has been demonstrated.
- Experience processing parts on 5-axis CNC mills, Swiss machines, and mill-turn equipment is required.
- Proficiency with Mastercam, PartMaker, and SolidWorks will be highly valued.
- Demonstrated independent problem-solving, technical leadership, and cross-functional communication skills.
