CNC Optical Fabrication Technician CWW Back End Nights (6:00 pm - 6:00 am Thursday - Saturday, every other Wednesday) 15% Differential.

About the role

ASML US brings together creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that produce faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. This position involves accurately manufacturing and supplying ASML products, improving existing products and processes, and guiding the implementation of new ones. The role ensures quality, standardization, and contributions to effectivity and efficiency improvements. This position requires access to controlled technology as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such technology prior to beginning work.

Responsibilities

• Initiate the fabrication and shaping of precision optical geometries using 3/5 axis machining centers under minimal supervision.
• Accountable for verification and accuracy of finished products, as well as support for process and product development.
• Set up and operate 3/5-Axis CNC specialized optical machining centers.
• Assemble cutting tools into tool-holders and position them in machine spindles and/or tool changer magazines.
• Generate part programs using Mastercam.
• Manually program CNC controllers through manual data input and/or load CAM-generated CNC programs.
• Manipulate machine controls to set up cutting tools and machine workpieces through CNC operation.
• Work safely on fragile, high-value optics.
• Measure workpieces for conformance to specifications and notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Make tool changes and offsets to maintain part specifications and compensate for tool wear.
• Follow written English work instructions describing processes and required measurements.
• Read and interpret ISO blueprints and incorporate them into part programs.
• Use measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gages.
• Verify settings by regularly measuring parts before and after changes.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Wear appropriate PPE and embrace ASML 5S requirements.

Requirements

• High School diploma, trade school graduate certificate, or G.E.D.
• Proven experience in multi-axis machines (3, 4, & 5-Axis CNC mills & machining centers), controls, and tool-holding systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Mastercam and G-Code programming.
• Intermediate mathematical skills, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Windows 10, MS Office, and SAP.
• Prior optical CNC fabrication experience is preferred.
• Prior DMG, Hurco, and Siemens control experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This role may be based in an office or factory setting, with the following responsibilities and conditions:

• Office Responsibilities:
  • Routinely required to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands for keyboarding, handling, and feeling.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel dependent on business needs.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Factory Responsibilities:
  • Must be willing to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves for entire shifts.
  • While performing duties, the employee routinely sits, walks, talks, hears, uses hands, stoops, kneels, crouches, twists, reaches, and stretches.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Works under deadlines in a moderate temperature environment with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed workweek schedule (twelve-hour shifts, rotating three to four days a week, including day and night shifts).
• Additional Factory Responsibilities (Wilton location):
  • Work in a cleanroom environment with full gowning (full-body coveralls, hood, CR safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves, and safety glasses).
  • Operate or work around overhead cranes, forklifts, and motorized pallet movers.
  • Work around lasers, ladders, platforms, and chemicals.
  • Occasionally move around the campus and lift/move up to 20 pounds.
  • Environment is generally moderate in temperature and noise level.
• General Work Environment:
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, solvents, and machining coolant.
  • May be exposed to laser energy, magnetic fields, and open flames.
  • Typically handles parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to stand, sit, kneel, and bend to load/unload machine tool surfaces.
  • Production areas maintained at 72–76°F and 40–50% relative humidity.
  • Moderate noise levels in manufacturing areas.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Potential exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage, and currents.
