About the role
Burton Mill Solutions is seeking a CNC Operator II, 1st Shift (Monday - Thursday, 5am - 3pm) to join our team of talented people to help continue our tradition of innovation and market leadership. This position works out of our facility in Fountain Inn, SC.
Responsibilities
- Mastering the art of precision, our CNC Operators take command by programming and loading/unloading computer-controlled lathes, mills, and grinders to craft high-precision metal blades and saws, ensuring every cut is flawless.
- Set up machines and change tooling or saw blades to grind/cut steel.
- Use specialized saws or hand tools.
- Use calipers and micrometers, must understand fractions and decimals.
- Read industrial knife blueprints.
- Complete Statistical Process Control Charts (SPCs) for all assignments.
- Perform quality checks.
- Forklift Certified (or able to become certified).
- Load and unload steel from machines.
- General cleaning and maintenance of machines and area.
- Work with a high sense of urgency.
- Wear all required PPE.
- May be required to provide support and training to others.
- Active participation in Lean and Safety Training.
- Must cross-train to other positions as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Technology: Must accurately input data into ERP System.
- Microsoft: Teams and email.
- Able to work with people to troubleshoot problems.
- Able to accomplish daily work requirements to meet customer demands.
- Must be able to speak and read English.
- Must be able to do basic math.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC operations, experience with metalworking, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of statistical process control and quality assurance is preferred.
