CNC Operator

About the role

Responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce machined parts while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate CNC programs for the current job
• Control product quality during production runs using precision measurement tools
• Obtain production requirements from Workflow
• Program CNC to specific operations
• Select appropriate tooling for each job
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Use precision measurement tools such as height gauge, micrometers, calipers, and pins gauges
• Perform dimensional checks of parts
• Make CNC program corrections as necessary
• Troubleshoot setup and production issues
• Measure parts to ensure they are within allowed tolerances
• Perform first piece and in-process quality checks
• Perform defined preventive maintenance activities
• Ensure inventory recording accuracy
• Identify, document, segregate, evaluate, and dispose of non-conforming products, services, or systems
• Adhere to and demonstrate knowledge of all ISO processes, procedures, flowcharts, and quality policy
• Document and train on department processes and procedures as necessary
• Ensure use of safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Troubleshoot equipment with CNC operating systems
• Ensure inventory recording accuracy
• Identify, document, segregate, evaluate, and dispose of non-conforming products, services, or systems
• Adhere to and demonstrate knowledge of all ISO processes, procedures, flowcharts, and quality policy
• Document and train on department processes and procedures as necessary
• Ensure use of safety devices and PPE
• Troubleshoot equipment with CNC operating systems

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• One to two years of prior factory employment preferred
• Two years of CNC experience, including lathe setup

Skills

• Familiarity with MRPII
• Experience with Haas CNC control
• Knowledge of G code programming and editing
• CAM programming experience
