CNC Operator

About the role

This position supports the Jordan Valve, Low Flow, Steriflow, Steriflow Food & Beverage, Marwin, Hex, and Bestobell product lines. The CNC Operator reports directly to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload parts within qualified time given
• Distinguish and identify proper tooling/collects/fixtures and jaws for efficient set-up
• Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability
• Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining using precision measuring instruments (micrometer, dial caliper)
• Adjust machine to control part process
• Post edits to CNC program to fine-tune process for optimum performance with assistance; submit changes to programmer
• Perform “first-piece” in-process inspection
• Machine set-up
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of CNC machining experience
• General PC knowledge
• Knowledge of AS400 system
• Knowledge of CNC Turning/Mill Machine
• Capable of handling 50 lb. to 200 lb. valve bodies with assistance of hand trucks, lifts, conveyors, and hoists
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to eight or more hours at a time)
• Ability to work weekends and overtime when scheduled
