About the role
This position supports the Jordan Valve, Low Flow, Steriflow, Steriflow Food & Beverage, Marwin, Hex, and Bestobell product lines. The CNC Operator reports directly to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities
- Load/unload parts within qualified time given
- Distinguish and identify proper tooling/collects/fixtures and jaws for efficient set-up
- Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability
- Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining using precision measuring instruments (micrometer, dial caliper)
- Adjust machine to control part process
- Post edits to CNC program to fine-tune process for optimum performance with assistance; submit changes to programmer
- Perform “first-piece” in-process inspection
- Machine set-up
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of CNC machining experience
- General PC knowledge
- Knowledge of AS400 system
- Knowledge of CNC Turning/Mill Machine
- Capable of handling 50 lb. to 200 lb. valve bodies with assistance of hand trucks, lifts, conveyors, and hoists
- Ability to stand for long periods (up to eight or more hours at a time)
- Ability to work weekends and overtime when scheduled
