CNC Operator
About the role
CNC Operator responsible for operating CNC equipment to perform machining operations on powder metal products. Duties include verifying gauges, starting and monitoring machine operations, performing quality checks, changing tools, loading parts, recording production, and cleaning equipment.
Responsibilities
- Review control plans and process instructions for current parts
- Verify accuracy of gauges and maintain them in good working order
- Get machines ready for operation and start them
- Perform quality checks and record results in Plex or equivalent
- Make offset adjustments and monitor machine operation for normalcy
- Report issues to CNC Setup or supervisors
- Change cutting tools as required and record tool life
- Load parts into automation or manually if necessary
- Generate Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) for out-of-specification products
- Record production and scrap data accurately
- Communicate with co-workers across shifts and report production issues
- Assist other employees as directed
Requirements
High school diploma or GED. Knowledgeable in safe workplace practices, CNC machining, TS-16949 quality systems, ISO-14001 environmental management systems, and control plans. Experience with lock-out/tag-out procedures and problem-solving skills are beneficial.
Qualifications
Ability to follow safe operating procedures and report safety issues. Proficiency in English and ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
Skills
Knowledge of CNC machining, quality systems, and environmental management. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and teamwork skills.
