Position Summary
Candidate will program and operate CNC woodworking machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup and operate all CNC machinery assigned according to department standard operation procedures
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings and machining methods and sequences so that parts are produced to quality expectations
- Translate instructions into computer commands to enable the machines to perform the correct function
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Conduct a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate many parts
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure the process has been completed properly
- Maintain and monitor machinery and tools to ensure optimum functionality
- Follow all shop floor controls
- Follow all safety policies and procedures as well as ensuring departmental safety

Minimum Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a CNC operator
- Background in woodworking field preferred
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Mechanical aptitude and excellent math skills
- Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
- Associates degree preferred
Physical Demands
- Must be able to complete work tasks that require strong manual dexterity
- Must be able to stand while working for long durations of time, up to three (3) hours at a time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work under pressure and within time constraints
- Must be able to perform duties while wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as determined by MillerKnoll’s Health and Safety department
- Must be able to perform in an environment with high levels of exposure to manufacturing noise, dust and heat
- Able to work in a multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekends, as required
- Able to work in a multi-shift environment including flexible hours, overtime and weekends, as required

- Must be able to train back up operator to set up all equipment in area

- Able to make independent judgements to determine best solution and obtain appropriate approvals before acting
Compensation
Compensation range for this role is $22.00 - $26.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors .
