About the Role
API Heat Transfer is seeking a CNC Operator for the 1st Shift (5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) at our Racine location. We are accelerating our path to Lean Cultural Change and expanding our Production team.
What You Will Do
- Set-up, program, and operate CNC Lathe / Barfeeder: tool setting, fixture set-up, making offsets, inspection, operator preventative maintenance.
- Set-up, program, and operate CNC Milling Center: tool setting, fixture set-up, making offsets, inspection, operator preventative maintenance.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with all API Heat Transfer policies for behavior within the workplace.
- Comply with all the ISO 9001 Quality Standards, policies, and procedures of API Heat Transfer.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with two years minimum of related combined experience.
- Basic set up experience on lathes and/or Machining centers.
- Ability to read and alter programs.
- Understand basic G and M codes.
- Ability to read blueprints.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
- Walking: Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
- Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
- Pushing and Pulling: Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
- Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
- Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
- Visual and Hearing Requirements: Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges. Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
- Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions). Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
