CNC Machinist (Weekend Shift) - Friday -Sunday - 5am-5pm - Heritage

As a CNC Machinist, you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe, injection molding, induction, multiple grinders, or other semi-automated equipment. You will also troubleshoot machines, diagnose breakdowns, disassemble equipment, and replace defective components.

Responsibilities

• Run production jobs on multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe, injection molding, induction, multiple grinders, or other semi-automated equipment, or manually adjust final product per written or verbal work instructions to produce quality parts while maintaining productivity standards.
• Inspect product for quality throughout production run using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, laser Keyence, profilometers, and gauges. Record inspection findings and document downtime and shift communications in a log book.
• Read work orders and blueprints to identify appropriate specifications for machine setup and product quality. Review work orders to ensure bill of materials accuracy and perform all inventory transactions correctly.
• Perform offsets to the program and adjust machine feed, speed, and axis points to maintain part specifications and quality standards. Report complex issues beyond basic adjustments to higher levels for resolution.
• Troubleshoot minor or major machine issues by diagnosing breakdowns, disassembling equipment, and replacing, resetting, or sharpening machine tooling as necessary.
• Perform machine setups, including changing fixtures, tooling bars, dies, and selecting and loading programs.
• Conduct general machine maintenance such as cleaning, checking oil and coolant levels, and replenishing as needed.
• Report accurate counts of production parts, scrap, and labor hours by completing required paperwork or electronic entries.
• Comply with established 6S standards and participate in lean manufacturing activities to improve products, reduce waste, or learn new skills.
• Cross-train by rotating to different machines and work areas as required. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related experience is required. Klein employees may be eligible for consideration with one (1) year of Klein Tools tenure.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge in operating CNC, milling, grinding, or injection molding machines preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
• Basic math and computer skills, with the ability to perform visual quality inspections.
• Ability to learn, problem-solve, and make decisions based on work instructions and documents.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to obtain a Klein-provided crane certification if required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed by the company.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
