Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible milling experience, aerospace industry experience is a plus.
- Certification from an accredited organization.
- Recent experience with Fanuc and Siemens controls, Pro3, Pro5 and Pro6.
- Understanding of M and G codes for all work centers & controllers in assigned area.
- Knowledge of feeds and speeds and ability to communicate recommended changes to programming.
- Basic math and geometry knowledge with elementary knowledge of engineering principals helpful.
- Ability to read blueprints, follow work orders, and follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
- Ability to monitor production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems, conduct routine preventative care.
- Ability to provide accurate information to supervisors, co-workers, and visitors.
- Ability to set up and operate a variety of machine tools.
- Ability to operate precision measuring tools or equipment.
- Ability to provide training to less experienced operators or as directed by management.
- Ability to accurately clock jobs.
- Ability to ensure quality of work performed.
- Ability to support continuous improvements in work areas.
- Ability to complete work according to the established schedule.
- Ability to provide backup coverage for supervisor/manager.
- Ability to quickly respond to all situations that could cause damage to equipment, product, or workers without authorization.
- Ability to demonstrate level I – level III proficiencies.
- Ability to concurrently run multiple machines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to ensure all safety checks on cranes, straps, and forklifts are being performed daily.
- Ownership of safety for the area.
- Ability to ensure all operators/visitors to area are following safety policy, wearing proper PPE, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate equipment such as CNC machines, milling machines, and end mills to produce manufactured parts primarily out of aluminum and titanium.
- Take measurements to adequately ensure the accurate set-up, with the use of tools such as; gauges, calipers, indicators and micrometers.
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Set up and troubleshoot 5-axis machines for large complex parts.
Qualifications
Must have recent experience with Fanuc and Siemens controls, Pro3, Pro5 and Pro6 a plus.
Must understand M and G codes for all work centers & controllers in assigned area.
Understand feeds and speeds and can communicate recommended changes to programming.
Troubleshoot issues independently.
