About the role

A CNC Machinist will focus on two core areas: CNC Machining and Production, and Quality Control and Maintenance at our Rural Hall, North Carolina location.

  • 60% of the time will be spent on CNC Machining and Production:
    • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines for gas and steam airfoil components according to engineering specifications and production schedules.
    • Perform rough and finish machining operations, making approved edits to machine programs as necessary.
    • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical data to ensure accurate production.
    • Operate material handling equipment, including overhead cranes, to move raw materials and finished parts.
    • Perform machining operations efficiently to meet established time standards and target expectations.
  • 40% of the time will be spent on Quality Control and Maintenance:
    • Inspect machined parts for conformance to print requirements using precision measuring devices and make necessary adjustments.
    • Identify, deburr, and mark parts as required while documenting any non-conformances in the system.
    • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment, including daily operational checks, to ensure proper functioning.
    • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in compliance with all safety standards.

Requirements

  • Evidence of a completed High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Machining Technology or equivalent vocational training is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in CNC milling or machining.
  • Mechanical aptitude, experience with power tools, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and quality control or product inspection experience preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
