CNC Machinist/Machine Operator - Weekend Night Shift

Our shop is not your typical machine shop; you’ll work with new state-of-the-art equipment in a safe, clean, air and climate-controlled environment producing specialized aerospace components.
About the role
As a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator, you will operate vertical turning centers to manufacture forgings from super alloys, supported by engineering and programming teams. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality and customer specifications. This is a weekend night shift: Friday–Sunday, 5 pm–5 am (36 scheduled hours, paid for 40). Training may take place during the week. We will train a motivated, mechanically inclined candidate.
Responsibilities
- Receive work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1st piece, and in-process check sheets from supervision.
- Read and interpret dimension drawings, sketches, tool setup sheets, and manufacturing instructions.
- Use operational drawings to determine required dimensions, travels, and tolerances.
- Operate machining centers to produce forgings from super alloys with engineering and programming support.
- Use precision measuring devices (scales, micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, gauges, profilometers) to verify machined dimensions and surface finishes.
- Load and unload pieces using an overhead hoist.
- Handle material carefully before and after machining operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Strong knowledge of basic machining principles.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills to resolve problems and implement long-term solutions.
- High attention to detail and organization.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment evaluation.
