About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our Wilsonville, OR location. The Machinist 3 sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate space and defense parts per engineering specifications and customer supplied drawings. The Machinist 3 sets up jobs and completes tasks with little to no supervision and maintains machine shop cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates CNC machines as directed
• Performs various machining and shop duties, which may include: loading and unloading raw materials/parts into CNC machine or waterjet machine, deburring parts, inspecting in-process parts, assisting with packaging of finished parts, monitoring shop supplies
• Ensures that machined parts meet customer specifications, drawings and STP files
• Demonstrates ability to run and dimensionally maintain quality in a production environment
• Utilizes blueprint reading skills, shop inspection skills and related inspection tools
• Properly utilizes measuring tools and set up tools
• Maintains equipment, shop cleanliness, and tooling inventory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Typically possesses 5-10 years of experience, with demonstrated ability to effectively set up and operate CNC machines, shop related tools and equipment
• Proficiency with lathe setup and operation (Mazak Integrex, Fanuc controls a plus)
• Versatility and experience across multiple machine centers
• Strong work ethic, communication skills and attention to detail
• General mechanical aptitude, dexterity and ability to effectively operate shop tools and equipment, proficiency with measuring tools and set up tools
• Understands G&M code, reads blueprints, troubleshoots production issues, conducts inspections
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout the work day, occasional use of stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds
• Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs
• Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
• Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirement)
• Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required
• Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s)
• Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level
