CNC Machinist II - Lathe (VS1-03) - 2nd Shift
About the role

Responsibilities
- Completes set-ups with general supervision/assistance.
- Responsible for all phases of part operation set-up to achieve first article acceptance.
- Performs and maintains accurate in-process quality inspection and records.
- Identifies and recommends process improvements to reduce part quality variation.
- Continuously improves processes, procedures, and eliminates waste.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least three to five (3-5) years experience in operation set-up on CNC Lathe equipment.
- Skilled in the use of indicator, gage, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
- Knowledge of cutting tools feeds, speeds, and inserts tool life for aerospace machining.
- Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0005”) of ID’s, hold .0005 profile, roundness.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blue prints and quality requirements.
- Ability to communicate with employees and management in a positive manner.
- Ability to lift a maximum of 25 lbs. (over 25 lbs. with assistance).
Qualifications
- Desirable experience and capabilities as listed above.
Skills
- Knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in the machining process.
- Able to read and interpret CNC programs.
- Able to make offsets to programs on CNC Machines.
- Able to assist and train less experienced machinists.
