CNC Machinist - Entry Level/Machinist 1

Responsibilities

• Load stock into CNC machine work holding devices
• Monitors the machining process
• Performs visual and physical inspection of parts produced per Laitram Machine Shop Quality Management System
• Accurately transactions (clock on, clock off, entering quantities, closing out operation when done, filling in appropriate paperwork)
• Cleans equipment used and keeps work area clean/organized

Requirements

• Has a high school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, working with fractions)
• Self-managed individual able to work well independently or in a team environment
• Flexible and responsive to changing demands
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications

• Experience using inspection tooling (i.e., micrometers, calipers, gages) to accurately measure part features
• Blueprint reading skills
• Knowledge of G and M codes
• Experience with manual and automated CMM’s
• Experience with GD&T
• Experience with FDM 3D Printing
