CNC Machinist - Days
About the role
Massman Companies is seeking a CNC Machinist for our Villard, MN location. This position supports production operations by performing low to moderate machining tasks, operating various machine tools such as mills, drill presses, and lathes. The role involves setting up basic tooling, writing and executing basic programs, and handling production work with close tolerances and exacting setups of low to moderate difficulty. You will read and interpret machining instructions from blueprints and part drawings.
Responsibilities
- Perform secondary operations such as stamping part numbers and deburring during machine cycle times.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery.
- Assist in other areas and perform additional tasks as needed.
- Participate in and contribute to Massman’s lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Inspect machine parts to ensure they meet size, shape, and tolerance specifications using tools like micrometers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; Technical Degree in Machine Tool Technology or a related field is a plus.
- 2-3 years of relevant machining experience can substitute for a technical degree.
- Problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to learn job methods quickly.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes is preferred.
