CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift
About the role
We’re looking for a skilled 2nd Shift Machinist to join our team at Mate Precision Technologies. You’ll work in a clean, climate-controlled environment, setting up and operating CNC and conventional machines to produce high-quality precision components.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and conventional machines and machining centers to produce precision components while meeting quality, productivity, and delivery expectations.
- Work with blueprints and GD&T requirements to ensure accurate production.
- Inspect your own work using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges).
- Troubleshoot machining issues to maintain smooth production.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to solve problems and improve processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts such as 5S, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; two-year technical degree preferred.
- Experience operating CNC and/or conventional machining equipment.
- Strong knowledge of machine tooling, fixtures, machining processes, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
- Comfort using precision inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges).
- Basic familiarity with machine programming features and ERP systems.
- Strong math and communication skills.
- Dependable, safety-focused mindset.

Schedule
- Option 1: Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. (5 days × 8 hours).
- Option 2: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. (4 days × 10 hours).
