About the role
EMC Precision has provided complex parts in low- to mid-volume quantities expertly machined since 1925. This role involves operating CNC Lathes to manufacture precision components.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines, specifically lathes with live tooling (Y axis) and sub-spindle
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Use micrometers and other precision instruments
- Calculate and adjust machine settings
- Identify and solve production problems
- Train and mentor team members on production processes
- Participate in cross-training opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness of work area using 5S techniques
- Perform daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Fluent in shop math
- Minimum of one year of shop experience
- Solid work history
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen
Physical Demands
- Frequently: push, pull, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, stand, see (general and close up), hear, speak, use motor coordination (dexterity), and use hands, wrists, arms, and fingers in any direction
- Occasionally: kneel, stoop, bend, grip, climb flights of stairs
