CNC Machinist 1st Shift

Work Model

This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

About the Role

Work effectively and safely as part of a manufacturing team to maintain high quality and just-in-time production flow. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, inventory control, adjusting production gauging, inspecting parts for quality, using process control methods, and performing routine visual assessments of preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. You will read and interpret process documents, advise supervisors or engineering of needed clarifications or corrections, follow detailed procedures, and maintain cell records (e.g., SPC). Additionally, you will assist in training team members, communicate production issues, and interface with product development, engineering, and others to deliver products meeting customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive drawings, process prints, set-up sheets, and other written or verbal instructions.
• Set up CNC machines or equipment for diversified operations such as machining, milling, turning, grinding, and riveting to produce a completed product.
• Move or direct the movement of materials in the cell to maintain constant product flow.
• Interpret a variety of process prints and competently use measuring devices provided as production gauging.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of machine controls and operation; perform production operations when not involved in other responsibilities.
• Perform machine operating and assembly as required.
• Adhere to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Apply, follow, and recommend Lean practices.
• Make minor program edits and perform machine offsets (programming knowledge not required but offset functions are necessary).
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and modify tooling as required.
• Use computer systems to perform production transactions and obtain documentation for assigned operations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of CNC machines, CNC lathes, millers, material handling, and other machines.
• Ability to read micrometers, bore gages, and other complex gauging.
• Ability to make minor program edits and troubleshoot tooling/programming problems on CNC equipment.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, dimensioning (including GD&T symbols), and Lean Tools & Principles.
• Proficiency in CNC machine controls, performing machine offsets, setups, tooling, and tool selection.
• Proficiency in making minor program adjustments and understanding basic programming.
• Proficiency in lathe, mill, and saw operation, offsets, and setups.
• Ability to train others in CNC machine operation.
• High school education or equivalent (2-year technical school preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of machining experience.
• Ability to perform machine shop mathematics, setups, and machining procedures.
