CNC Machine Repair Technician II - 1st Shift

About the role

This position provides an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on facility machine tool equipment in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and corrects safety-related issues and performs independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
• Follows proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tag-out procedures, and wears PPE as required.
• Understands and enforces company safety policies and regulations.
• Performs preventive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Responds to and provides service and feedback on work orders while ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving them.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical equipment, including basic electrical components.
• Operates measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to provide energy efficiency solutions.
• Differentiates between cause types when troubleshooting among product, process, mechanical, and electrical contributors.
• Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical schematics/prints.
• Operates hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
• Maintains a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility for day-to-day activities and customer benefit.
• Performs general maintenance of equipment as required.
• Completes other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• Two years of experience maintaining buildings, facilities, or equipment in a large commercial or industrial environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
• Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location).
• Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
• May require overtime, various shifts, weekends, holidays, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly climbs extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and stretching/reaching during shift.
• Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion repetitively during shift.
• Extensive walking throughout the plant during shift.
• Use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
• Ability to differentiate colors for wire color-coding.
• Repetitive wrist movement for some tasks.
• Ability to interact professionally with clients despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements

• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Ability to cope with job-related stressors to maintain acceptable performance levels.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in industrial electrical or a related field (preferred).
• Experience working safely with 480V 3-phase circuits.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial lighting systems.
• Experience making repairs on rubber production or similar equipment.
• Experience installing conduit.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electric motors and motor controls.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC logic and VFD’s.
• Experience with PC-based work order systems for opening, closing, and time reporting.
• Experience developing control systems, programming ladder logic/PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, FANUC, GE, MicroLogix, ControlLogix, and PLC-5), and HMI.
• Experience utilizing building automation systems to track building conditions and production equipment operation.

Pay

$24 - $25 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
