CNC Machine Operator

What You Will Do

• Sets up and operates CNC lathes to perform threading operations on experimental, individual or quantity parts or rods.
• Selects mounts and aligns various machine attachments, standard or improvised tooling.
• Sets and adjusts speeds, feeds, and depths of cuts where applicable. May be required to edit programs.
• Conducts inspection to ascertain threaded rods meet Norris and/or API specifications using various precision and non-precision instruments, templates and go/no-go gauges. Records inspection data for purposes of maintaining statistical information.
• May be required to attach protector in coupling and/or attach coupling on rod end to proper tightness.
• Monitors feed table and straighten improperly placed rods.
• Performs routine maintenance on the equipment including cleaning, adjusting and maintaining proper fluid levels and filters. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• May be assigned other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Four years of directly related experience.
• HS Diploma or GED equivalent.

Physical Demands

• Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
• Continuous standing. Frequent walking, pounding, occasional bending, and using whipping action to untangle rods.
• Personal Protective Equipment is required including hard hats, safety glasses and steel toed footwear.
• Lifts/carry 50 pounds occasionally, frequently 33 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
