CNC Lathe & Robot Setup/Operator

Core Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes and automated robotic loading/tending systems for production runs.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, job travelers, and operational routing sheets.
  • Establish tool and work offsets, adjust machine settings, and perform minor G-code or parameter edits on Fanuc controls.
  • Set up fixtures, jaws, cutting tools, and workholding components to support close-tolerance machining.
  • Perform in-process quality inspections using precision metrology instruments including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with plant safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisory and quality personnel to resolve technical issues and maintain quality standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC turning equipment in a production environment.
  • Experience working with Fanuc CNC control interfaces and automated machine-tending systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of blueprint interpretation and mechanical machining principles.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and dimensional quality verification practices.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing setting.
