CNC Lathe Programmer
About the Role
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer to join our team. The Programmer will develop and implement advanced manufacturing solutions for gas turbine components using state-of-the-art CNC equipment and software tools.
- Create and optimize NC programs using Siemens NX for complex machining operations on mill-turn machines, 2-axis lathes, and other CNC lathes and mills as required.
- Validate NC programs virtually through machine simulation.
- Perform on-machine program validation and optimization.
- Collaborate with design engineers to enhance part designs for manufacturability.
- Participate in equipment installation, runoff, and production startup activities.
- Other job-related duties as required.
CNC grinding experience is preferred.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment developing NC programs.
- 5 years of NC programming experience using CAM software.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and demonstrated understanding of CAD principles and GD&T.
- Previous hands-on machining experience is a plus.
- Experience creating process-related work instruction documentation.
- Fundamental understanding of machining work holding strategy, cutting tool selection, and gaging selection.
- Experience working with aerospace alloys and hardened steel alloys preferred.
- CNC grinding experience preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches).
- Capable of pushing or pulling 60 pounds.
- Grip strength of at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height (65 inches).
Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
